What are the National Days in May? Like every month, May has been divided into religious special days, cultural days, silly days and completely non-sensical days. We created FREE resources for four of these; Sun Awareness Week, Cinco de Mayo, World Bee Day and World Turtle Day.
So when are these National Days in May? Well Sun Awareness Week is from May 3rd to May 9th, Cinco de Mayo, as the name suggests is on May 5th. World Bee Day is on May 20th and Word Turtle Day is on May 23rd.
Sun Awareness Week (Technically 7 National Days in May)
Sun awareness is so important that one national day in May wasn’t enough, it demanded an entire week. Our Free Printable has activities for all of our age groups (1-11).

World Bee Day (Our favourite of the National Days in May)
One of our favourite activities to celebrate this May national day is creating a bee garden. Please note that bee gardens can and often do, attract bees. As such, they are not recommended if anyone in your family has an allergy to bees or if you have an aversion to their presence. Bees have an important role in the eco-system and as with all animals, should be treated with respect. You can use our Premium “How to Grow Herbs” printable to get you started. We suggest planting herbs that thrive in pots, are attractive to bees, and can be used for your own cooking: chives, fennel, mint, lemon balm, rosemary, and sage.
